Missouri State University Capital Campaign

FULL CIRCLE EXPERIENCE

There is a sense of excitement, intrigue and wonder when we begin a campaign journey with our clients. Where will this go? How far will it reach? At the end, what will it look like? As an experiential partner, we often won’t fully know those answers. But we design campaign moments, be they launches, roadshows or celebrations, with the next phase always in mind. Built for the present, directed to the future. We had the unique opportunity to take this ride with Missouri State, producing a launch just before the pandemic, and a triumphant celebration a short while later.

XPL was the creative strategist and executive producer for two major events - each one setting new records for live engagement. We worked with MSU’s development and comms teams, directing them, uncovering with them, and executing with them and their venue partners to bring about the most successful campaign in Missouri State History. Here come the Bears!



JUST ENOUGH

Missouri State is an example of a client who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles that may come with live event production. XPL was able to fill creative direction and executive production roles for the university, while relying on their every day teams to handle procurement, digital media creation and presenter outreach.

We like to think our light-hearted yet focused demeanor led to a truly great collaborative synergy between all teams involved.


TRADITIONALLY UNIQUE

Missouri State has a rich history and many traditions it relies on to build its community. One of XPL’s design goals with both the launch and the celebration was to cast those traditions in a new light. We leveraged drama students, professors, their world-famous choir and marching bands, along with prominent alumni, allies and A-listers to build shows that provided unique and unexpected moments for every audience to experience with a sense of awe.
