XPL has spent decades building community. Our work for Moms Demand Action has been no different. The Wear Orange Summer Jam, produced over multiple years in a partnership with the Lena Park Community Development Corporation, was a community day that brought citizens of Dorchester, Massachusetts together with local politicians, business leaders and gun violence protection activists. Our philosophy is when we come together as citizens and as neighbors, we form stronger social bonds, bonds that help uplift our communities. We designed the Wear Orange Summer Jam to achieve several key outcomes: Peace through Unity, Understanding through Collaboration and Empowerment through Education.
By gathering diverse groups to celebrate both what makes us unique and what brings us together, we create a foundation of hope and of trust. THAT is what building community is all about.
Working in a variety of markets, XPL has been witness to the myriad of forces that come to bear when community is built. Be it around a cause, an institution or within a company, community is the precursor to progress. By having XPL on board to help guide, design and execute both live as well as virtual experiences for the Wear Orange movement, Moms Demand Action was able to magnify its partner involvement, bring necessary media and political attention to their efforts and focus on one very important objective - building relationships.
